It may be harder to get the kids together for a family portrait once they are all in their 20's, but it is just as important to document how your family looks today as it was when the children were little. The way I got my kids to sit for a portrait was to tell them that an updated picture was what I wanted for Christmas. You can tell your kids that if they really love you, a portrait for Valentine's Day would be the perfect gift for you. They might complain a little, but giving up an hour of their time is relatively painless, and 20 years from now, everyone will be glad you did it!
